The HOGWASH Letter: Otter Manufactures Campaign Issue to Fundraise

Otter quietly filed for re-election today. He sent around a press release announcing his campaign staff, as if they haven't already been on the job smearing his likely opponent under false pretenses. As predicted by Sisyphus, Governor Otter's impotent letter to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid over the holidays was nothing more than a cheap ploy on health care reform to frighten his backers into giving him money. Otter sent them his HOGWASH letter pulling out every two bit monster Fox News can construct, about scary liberals in Washington coming to take all the money out of their wallets, all the while asking Republicans to send him as much as they can. In the letter Otter promises to "weigh in" on what we can do to reform health care but he never gets around to it in three single spaced pages. Not even a Republican website, probably cause none exist.

The HOGWASH letter demonstrates the deception of the Idaho Health Freedom Act. Otter confuses his role as congressman for his current job as Governor endeavoring to bring the national debate home to Idaho through misguided, divisive and pointless legislation. The legislation actually increases Idaho's shrinking budget to hire lawyers to sue the feds should health care reform become a reality. So not only did Otter misuse his office to stage a fight in a battle waged at the federal level, he colluded with Idaho Republicans to waste money on lawyers just to give Otter a fighting chance to keep his job.

What's more interesting about the letter is what it fails to mention, Otter's record as governor so far. And its easy to see why.
