"Unregulated capitalism serves only the interests of the strongest. It is economic and social Darwinism at its ugliest, because there are always people for whom money and power are everything. Greed (for some people) knows no bounds.
This is why in a democratic system there needs to be regulation of the worst excesses of capitalism. Ultimately, in a democracy ALL institutions should promote the health of society. SOME incentive for risk taking is good to encourage risk taking. NO PENALTY for risk taking is bad; it creates moral hazard."
