Blogger Meeting with the IDP

Last week during the convention Kieth Roark and Chuck Oxley issued an invitation to the blogs to have some representatives meet up in an effort to "build bridges" between the independent blogs and the Party. Many of us became politicized and sought to vent our frustration with the status of current politics and traditional media by utilizing whatever talent we had on the blogs. Mr. Oxley gives a very nice write up of the event in the recent newsletter and on the website. Actually I think they're really worried that we'll turn on 'em. I can only say that we made no promises. We call bullshit where we see it and the party ain't immune.

In addition to the foregoing were myself, Alan from Idablue, Tara from the Political Game, Jill from NewWest, Michael Ames who blogs occasionally at Huffington Post, and the ever reclusive Mountain Goat. Julie was busy plotting the the demise of the Free Republic and so was excused. We were glad our very gracious hosts sought us out for input and to share ideas. After all, that's what this is all about. We talked about the use of the blogs to network through the vast expanse of Idaho's geography to share ideas, keep us posted on regional events, and, of course, to help each other keep an eye on the wingnuts. There were some bizarre questions like "what makes us tick?" but overall a positive experience.

Indeed, as Chuck indicated, it was my first time meeting the Goat, who we all respect greatly and put up often as the one to emulate should others want to join the community. And please join us. This blog specifically was created for that very purpose. Don't be shy. Not in cyberspace. Serephin won't bite. But Binky might. Down Binky, down.
