When I look at the smiles on all the children's faces, I just know they're about to jab me with something.
More election filings
According to the most recent Secretary of State filings, Rex Rammell has filed to run for Senate as an independent, which means he'll skip the primaries and appear on the general election ballot. Rammell, a (apparently former) Republican, has a well-known axe to grind with Jim Risch. This is great news for the Larry LaRocco camp.
Here in Twin Falls County, Peter Rickards has filed to run for House seat 23A against Jim Patrick. I'm told by a reliable source there will be four legislative candidates in Twin Falls County, including at least one in District 24, which includes most of Twin Falls city. Stay tuned.
The filing deadline is tomorrow at 5 pm. Expect a mad rush between now and then.
UPDATE (4:20 pm): Dan Romero, who a few of us had been egging on to run, has filed to run for Senate in District 13 against Patti Anne Lodge. Scratch that strikethrough from before, he's back.
One of my more libertarian-minded Democrat friends in Canyon County thinks highly of Romero. Romero initially told me he wasn't thinking about 2008; I'm glad he changed his mind (hopefully the list will hold this time).
