Idaho Republicans Scold Electorate, Forget to Check Their Zipper

How long can Idaho elect people who think the only use for government is to mold society into some sort of Mayberry. Sheesh even Mayberry had a town drunk, a single parent and incompetent law enforcement but these bozos are shooting for the cumulous clouds breaking and the bare feet of a lilly white Christ stepping down to bestow the fictionalized blessings of heaven upon the nuclear family in the apparent belief that this is the only way to salvation of the myriad reality based problems facing our lawmakers every session. But in the wake of the Larry Craig scandal how can any of these family values' candidates have the audacity to scold the rest of us on our lifestyles? The moral authority of those who would lecture you on your life choices is utterly tainted by these self same lawmaker's own choices and by their families disclosing a level of hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy rendering them and their views unfit for public office. They have insulted women, single parents, all divorced people, dishonored the religion of tolerance and forgiveness they invoke at every opportunity, and unequivocally demonstrated a leadership so out of touch with reality that there's no wonder the country feels we're headed in the wrong direction.

I speak of course of the Idaho Family Task Force and the quotes from its participants. These yahoos were among the one's who killed legislation to require minimum safety standards and criminal history checks for Idaho day-cares because it would just encourage women to work. In the Statesman article (first link) the chairman Steve Thayn of Emmett was identified as a proponent of the "traditional family" with a nice photo of them sitting around the table and children playing in the foreground in an effort to demonstrate what an Idaho family should look like and by implication what he and other lawmakers need to promote in making policy decisions for the state to the exclusion of the way you live. Yet, as disclosed by the MountainGoat today all is not so bucolic in the Thayn family. The question raised by this disclosure for voters is why does Thayn thinks he has the answers to society's ills when his answer to them apparently doesn't solve them? Where does this lawmaker summon the arrogance to tell the electorate that the family structure he chooses is superior to all others? Even beyond that why is it a proper tool of government to help accomodate not just any choice but only that choice? The social engineering aspects are dissected very nicely here again by the Goat. She's on a roll.

Its not just Thayn, its the entire Idaho Taliban. You need to also focus not just on the task force but the man responsible for its formation, Speaker of the House Republican Lawrence Denney recently named co chair for the re-election campaign of brain-fade Sali. Also named co-chair is family values Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna whose brother was recently on the lam for a charge of lewd conduct with a nine year old over a five year span an act he admitted to, he says, to make her feel better. And then there's the lobbying group who is getting serviced by these cretins, the Idaho Values Alliance and there illustrious leader, the Village Idiot, who recently stated that because Boise elected Democrats to public office: "Boise certainly is no longer the friendliest place in Idaho to raise a family." But the kingpin of this hypocrisy is Senator Craig hisself who has put his own interests ahead of the best interests of the state of Idaho in vanity based effort to publicly deny that he solicits anonymous sex in public toilets. Its time for Idahoans to clean up the state by electing people who have some clue as to the problems we face and will listen to and impliment reality based solutions.

Ugh

Check this trainwreck out:

Steve Thayn is the whole canard. Check this gem:

Freedom: is the ability to do. A person gains freedom by obedience to the Natural Order. Freedom is not the ability to do anything one wants to do. This is a false freedom. It does not exist. Freedom is gained by gaining power. Power is not control over others rather control over one’s self. Power is also gained by aligning one’s actions and beliefs with the Natural Order. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder, as Michael Savage points out, because liberalals try to change the Natural Order.

Doublespeak and referencing Michael Savage as a factual source on mental disorders. The mind boggles.

It certainly

does explain a lot.

Ugh, I checked out the link you referenced and......

my brain still hurts from trying to understand their drivel.

Let us know

if it starts making sense. We'll schedule an intervention.

Finally

The Statesman picked it up.

"The arrest was first reported by a blogger Monday."

Nice of the Statesman to be so specific. Sheeesh.

Then the idiot heads of the Thayn families said:

One of the recommendations put forward by Thayn’s task force is revisiting the restraining order rules in cases of domestic violence. Both Steven Thayn and his son say the restraining order put in place after the April incident did more harm than good by keeping the couple from working out their problems. The Thayns are still together and expecting their first child.

“The laws are set up in a lot of ways to destroy families,” Damon Thayn said.

Owwwww... the stupid -- it burns!

Yeah, Stevie -- those damn laws were intentionally set up to screw with you, personally. What were those lawmakers thinking, interfering with you God-given right to slap your property wife around and choke her when you get good and pissed off? Damn the man, Steve-O, damn him to h-e-double-toothpicks!

The Thayn boys, a.k.a, "When Good Genetics Go Bad".

I don't think

there's a lifeguard in that gene pool.
