Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be happy.
Selling Encylopedias
Just to pick on Little Adam some more:
I will say that it’s not the wisest thing in the world to plan on being part of a corporation all your life. They restruction and change all the time. The wisest course is to find yourself employed by yourself. That’s the goal I’m working towards. I’ll let you know when I get there.
Thats Unpossible!
Oh, and I'm not holding my breath waiting for him to be working for himself when he's employed by himself. And himself some more, or something like that.
And before Little Adam decides that I can't argue his point, let me say this: You're an idiot and the flat tax is moronic. It doesn't allow for specific tax breaks and industry targeted incentives. If you can't allow for those kinds of incentives in the tax code (of which there are thousands, currently) then no city is better than any other city. Bidding for industry begins with tax code incentives for specifics, thats just a plain fact. Micron itself has been the beneficiary of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars of tax incentives here and in other locations around the United States. Those incentives allow them to operate at a profit in the U.S. while also maintaining operations overseas. Without those incentives under a flat tax plan, there is little reason for companies to stay here.
