Passover seder is unusual because Jews don't remember a great victory or their illustrious past, but remember their degradation, and also the suffering of those who pursued them. Perhaps the Passover seder should be regarded as it should be lived: as a cry for justice and compassion, spoken not only for Jews, but for all humankind. It is their special offering to the world as Jews. and, each year, it is reaffirmed: Justice. Hope. Redemption from degradation.
